Molecular Biology Laboratory – Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (Established in 2013)
The Molecular Biology Laboratory at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine,
Kafrelsheikh University, was established in 2013 as an outcome of the project
titled “Establishment of a Molecular Biology Research Laboratory” (Project
Code: 2329), which was funded with five million Egyptian pounds by the
Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF) under the Capacity
Building Grant Program on 23 September 2012.
About the Laboratory
The laboratory is located on the ground floor of the Anatomy Department at
the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, with a total area of 60 m². It is equipped
with the latest instruments and advanced technologies to promote scientific
research and innovation.
The laboratory provides research and training opportunities for both
undergraduate and postgraduate students to help them understand the
theoretical and practical principles of operating molecular biology equipment.
It also serves as a core facility to support and develop the university’s scientific
research infrastructure, acting as a foundation for future research projects
and collaborations.
Laboratory Management Board
The Laboratory Management Board is formed under the chairmanship of the
Dean of the Faculty, with the following members. The number of members may
be increased in the future according to the workload and the expansion of the
laboratory’s activities, with the approval of the Board:
- Prof. Dean of the Faculty – Chairman
- Prof. Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research – Member
- Prof. Director of the Laboratory – Member
- Prof. Deputy Director of the Laboratory – Member
- Prof. Technical Director – Member
- Prof. Deputy Technical Director – Member
- Prof. Quality Manager – Member
- Secretary of the Board (from the laboratory’s technical or administrative staff) – Member
