The academic year: 2017/2018

1)      The Islamic Development Bank is honored to announce about opening the door of competition to gain its scholarship of superior students in science and culture for the academic year 2017/2018 (50 scholarships) for winners.

2)      The program helps the students to follow up the study for three years to gain Doctorate in the scientific specialisms which will enhance the development in the Member States in the bank while giving the priority for the specialisms of health, medicine, agriculture, food production, water resources, Desertification, Infrastructure development, Nanotechnology, information and communication technology which cares for development.

3)      The applicant should be a citizen from the Member states in the bank who works in permanent job or research centers in his/her country and meets the eligibility requirements of the program.

4)      The winning applicant of the program scholarship for Doctorate stage should secure his/her acceptance in one of the universities that listed in appendix of “Time” newspaper for higher education and one can visit the website: http://www.timeshighereducation.co.uk/world-university-rankings/

5)      The priority will be given to the candidate of Doctorate stage accepted by the universities which has entered into an agreement of cooperation with the bank to obtain Doctorate such as University of Cambridge, Queen Carey University in London, University of Nottingham, University of Birmingham, University of College London and Imperial College London in United Kingdom, (Paris-tech) University in France, University of Copenhagen in Denmark, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia, Princeton University

6)      The program also seeks to attract professionals/ inventor scientists to do postdoctoral research project for a period ranging between 6 and 12 months in prestigious research centers that have the facilities and equipment for conducting the advanced research projects whether in the Member States in the bank or in the advanced countries, so the candidate of this scholarship will conduct a research that will solve a particular issue on the table in one of the Member States which will enhance the development in these countries such as Malaria, Ebola, Coruna, nutrition, energy and Desertification, etc.. and this will be for focusing on the most developmental fields that cares the Member States in the bank as illustrated by “the Bank's vision of prospects for 1440 AH”.

7)      For the candidate of postdoctoral research scholarship, one should secure a letter of invitation from one of the prestigious research centers whether in the Member States in the bank or in the advanced countries.

8)      The bank scholarship covers the expenses of the envoy only without his/her family related to tuition fees, the cost of living, and medical insurance and round-trip ticket.

9)      The candidates of program scholarship should visit the bank website www.isdb.org to get the application form, read the full information, how to apply, advantages, facilities and the universities’ name.

10)  The applicant should fill the application form documented by the required documents through the governor office of the bank at the applicant’s country not send it directly to the bank in Jeddah, but it should be sent to the governor office or to the office chosen by the governor until January 31, 2017.
