In a distinguished academic and artistic atmosphere, the Faculty of Specific Education at Kafrelsheikh University held the discussion and evaluation of the graduation projects of fourth-year students in the Department of Art Education on Sunday, 28 June 2026, under the patronage of Professor Yehia Zakaria Eid, President of Kafrelsheikh University, and Professor Amani Mohamed Shaker, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, under the supervision of Professor Naglaa Hosny El-Ashraf, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, and in the presence of a number of faculty members, teaching assistants, and students.
This year's graduation projects reflected the students' awareness of community and environmental issues. The students presented innovative artistic murals based on the reuse of metal waste and scrap materials, transforming them into artworks with distinctive aesthetic and artistic values. These projects contribute to waste recycling, environmental conservation, and the promotion of a culture of sustainability within the community. The Murals of Reused Scrap and Metal Waste project was supervised by Associate Professor Samah El-Refaie, Associate Professor Dalia El-Maddah, and Dr. Mohamed Abdel Hamid.
In support of the visual identity of Kafr El Sheikh Governorate, students of the Department executed a series of murals along the wall of the Governorate Traffic Department, depicting the Governorate's most prominent landmarks and cultural heritage. The murals added an aesthetic dimension to the site and received wide appreciation from citizens and the Traffic Department staff for their artistic and national messages that reinforce the sense of belonging and promote public appreciation of art. The completion of the Traffic Department wall murals was supervised by Associate Professor Fady Boutros and Dr. Shady Essam.
A number of students also presented innovative paintings inspired by the distinctive architectural vision of Kafrelsheikh University through an abstract impressionistic approach, reflecting a high artistic standard and demonstrating their ability to employ contemporary artistic techniques in expressing the aesthetic qualities of the University's campus buildings. This project was supervised by Dr. Shady Essam.
Professor Naglaa Hosny El-Ashraf, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education, expressed her great satisfaction with the outstanding standard demonstrated by the students, emphasizing that this year's graduation projects reflect the creativity, excellence, and ability of the Faculty's students to employ art in serving the community, protecting the environment, and reinforcing visual identity. She noted that the Faculty is always committed to supporting innovative ideas that connect academic study with community needs and contribute to preparing graduates capable of competitiveness, creativity, and active participation in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
She further affirmed that these projects embody the mission of the Faculty of Specific Education in preparing generations equipped with awareness, knowledge, and creativity, capable of utilizing art as a means of development, beautification, and community service, reflecting the distinguished position enjoyed by the Faculty and Kafrelsheikh University in supporting creativity and excellence.
