On behalf of myself and my colleagues—faculty members, assistant lecturers, and teaching assistants—it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Educational Technology and Computer Science webpage. We hope you will find comprehensive and useful information about the department, including its vision, mission, objectives, academic programs, research activities, and community engagement initiatives.

The Department of Educational Technology was established during the 1991–1992 academic year as one of the academic departments of the Faculty. Over the years, the department has played a leading role in education, research, and professional development in the fields of Educational Technology and Computer Science. Today, the department offers distinguished academic programs that prepare highly qualified graduates capable of meeting the evolving needs of educational institutions and the digital labor market.

In response to the rapid advances in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, immersive technologies, virtual and augmented reality, educational data analytics, and intelligent learning environments, the department continuously updates its academic programs, curricula, and research priorities. It is committed to integrating emerging technologies into teaching, learning, and scientific research while promoting innovation, creativity, lifelong learning, and entrepreneurship.

The department also strives to strengthen its graduate studies and research activities by encouraging high-quality scientific research that addresses contemporary educational challenges and contributes to the advancement of knowledge. It adopts a comprehensive perspective that views Educational Technology as an applied scientific discipline that draws upon learning sciences, psychology, curriculum and instruction, computer science, information technology, artificial intelligence, and educational management to design, implement, manage, evaluate, and continuously improve educational systems, learning environments, and digital resources.

These achievements have been made possible through the continued support of the Faculty administration and the dedication of the department's faculty members, who work collaboratively to ensure that the department's academic programs remain aligned with international developments, quality assurance standards, accreditation requirements, and Egypt's Vision for sustainable educational development.
