“The Development of the Nile Delta in Egypt and the Yangtze Delta in China during the Holocene Era” A Seminar at Faculty of Science

Today Tuesday 5/11/2019, under the patronage of Prof Dr Abed el Raziq Dousoki, Faculty of Science, represented by Geology Department, organizes a seminar entitled “comparative study of the development of the Nile Delta in Egypt and the Yangtze Delta in China during the Holocene Era” in the presence of Prof Dr Hasan Younis, the vice president for post-graduation studies and research; Prof Dr Magdy Mahfouz, the faculty dean; Prof Dr Alaa Mohammad Salem, the head of Geology Department, staff members, assistant staff and many students.

As well, Prof Zhongyan Shen, the professor at the Coastal Research Institute of East China University, gives a lecture in the seminar as it deals with a comparative study for the development of the Nile Delta in Egypt and the Yangtze Delta in China during the Holocene Era.

The professor reveals that they discover a complete model of the stages of the development of the Nile Delta during the Holocene era and its repercussions on the ancient Egyptian civilization and it is also expected to find out the nature of the sediments and the evidence it contains. The analysis of these sediments helps in discovering the places where the old man was concerned with agriculture in the Delta and the quality of those crops during different ages and what it reflects from the ancient climate changes.

Furthermore, the president praises the organization of such important seminars for students that   shed a light on the applied side of various specializations and provide students with the necessary experiences for the labor market. He also stresses the need to integrate the efforts of various relevant bodies to organize studies and research works to maximize investment for the benefit of the national economy and the establishment of a scientific base with young national cadres qualified and capable of carrying out geological work.
