Staff Member Won the Year Award in Green Chemistry


 Kafrelsheikh University achieves a new accomplishment which is the first of its kind as Dr Sara Abed el Hamid, a lecturer of Nanomedicine at Nanotechnology and Science Institute, has won the year award in Green Chemistry by a jury, representative of UNESCO and IUPAC Organizations and PhosAgro Company.

The certificate represents the recognition of the scientific and technological role of Kafrelsheikh University and it is a high-level award for which researchers around the world has applied with a research projects in the field of green chemistry. The projects are chosen according to the highest grade and only 5% of the projects are accepted.

As well, Sara Abed el Hamid is the first staff member that gains this award and this award is in the form of funding the selected research proposal for one year from the start of the project.

The researcher was honored at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris in the presence of the representatives of UNESCO, IUPAC and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of PhosAgro Company and the Egyptian Cultural Office in France.

The global donor of the certificate appreciated the efforts of the researcher and the value of the research and considered it a worthy achievement and reflects the effort exerted by the researcher.

Otherwise, the reseacher expressed her happiness for this achievement and thanked Prof Dr Abed el Razik Dousoki for his efforts and continuous support in the university's continuous successes.

 

From his part, the President Prof Dr Abed el Razik Dousoki expressed his happiness to gain this award, stressing that the award comes the award comes as an encouragement for distinguished researchers and in recognition of their role in the service of scientific research for the benefit of society.
