Psychiatric & Mental Health Nursing Department
This department is designed to help in strengthen student’s concept of health, mental health, human relationships & its application with individuals who are demonstrating maladaptive coping responses. In addition, the main courses offered under this scientific department is to explore the mental health - mental illness continuum across the lifespan; & give students as well an understanding of basic mental processes & nursing interventions to promote coping cultural, legal, and ethical implications of mental illness. Also, help student in application of therapeutic communication process & phases of therapeutic nurse-client relationship. Furthermore, students are expected to integrate principles of psychiatric nursing, psychopharmacology, and therapeutic relationship skills in caring for clients and their families. In addition, to give chance for graduates to continue their studies through discovering new ideas/models in the areas of research & evidence based related practice .
