Philosophy Statement
Nursing is both a scientific discipline and a
profession. The purpose of discipline is to develop and disseminate knowledge
of concern to nurse, persons, communities, environment, and health.
Professional nursing is practice of a scientific discipline that directly
benefits society through promoting health, and ultimately enhancing quality of
life. The discipline of nursing is grounded in values and ethics, also reflects
advances in disciplinary and technological knowledge in ever-expanding,
multicultural society.
We believe that client is a
bio-psycho-social and spiritual human being in constant interaction with a
changing environment. Every human being is a unique entity entitled to respect,
care and support. Each has dignity, intrinsic values, freedom and
responsibility for his/her own choice in seeking health care. Clients have the
right to full accessible, affordable and holistic health services without
discrimination. We are educating students to be caregivers, managers, leaders, advocates,
educators, and scholars. Students are expected to assume responsibility for
their learning .
