Prof. Dr. Yahya Eid, President of Kafrelsheikh University, Attends the Closing Ceremony of the Ramadan Sports Tournament
Prof. Dr. Yahya Eid, President of Kafrelsheikh University, witnessed the closing ceremony of the Ramadan Sports Tournament for university faculties. The event featured students competing in five-a-side football, volleyball, table tennis, basketball, and darts. Organized by the Sports Activity Department under the General Administration of Student Welfare, the tournament took place at the Faculty of Sports Science stadiums.
The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Ismail Ismail Ibrahim, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Prof. Dr. Amany Shaker, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Dr. Ali Sabry, Secretary-General of the University. The tournament was held under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rushdi Al-Adawy, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and General Coordinator of Student Activities.
Prof. Dr. Yahya Eid emphasized that the university’s commitment to sports stems from its positive impact on students' mental and psychological health. He noted that sports enhance youth energy, foster a competitive spirit, increase self-confidence, and drive achievement. He added that practicing sports cultivates teamwork—where cooperation is the key to success—and plays a vital role in developing leadership qualities and social skills.
The President congratulated the winning students, praising the distinguished and creative youth of the university across various athletic, cultural, and scientific fields. He reaffirmed the university’s dedication to all physical and sporting activities and to promoting the concept of fair competition among students.
Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Yahya Eid pointed out that student activities are an essential complement to the educational process, teaching students to take responsibility for themselves, their peers, and society. He urged students to actively participate in various activities, pursue lifelong learning, gain experience, and engage with their professors to benefit from their expertise, ensuring they are well-prepared for the future in light of the Egyptian state's significant support for creative youth.
