Under the Patronage of Prof. Dr. Sabah Abu Al-Fotouh – Dean of the Faculty of Nursing
The Faculty of Nursing organized an orientation day for new students, emphasizing the college’s mission to cultivate academically and practically distinguished students, capable of keeping pace with modern developments in nursing and competing locally and internationally.
The event began with a welcoming speech by the Dean, who congratulated the students on the start of a new academic year. She emphasized that university life is the beginning of the path to the future, where students acquire not only knowledge and scientific skills but also life skills and the ability to act as responsible, ethical university students. She highlighted that the Faculty of Nursing is their second home and assured students that faculty members and administrative staff are always available to support them.
During the orientation day, several faculty members delivered presentations introducing the various units within the college, including:

Dr. Rasha Ali – Director of the Quality Assurance Unit: She discussed the importance of student participation in the quality and accreditation system, as students are the core of the educational process and central to its development.

Dr. Fatima Abu Al-Ala – Director of the Assessment and Evaluation Unit: She explained the electronic testing system and modern assessment tools that ensure fairness and transparency in evaluating student performance.

Dr. Manal Yehia – Director of the Academic Advising Unit: She outlined the credit hour system and the steps for course registration, emphasizing the importance of following the academic advisor to balance study and activities.

Prof. Dr. Omnia Al-Ayyari – Student Activities Coordinator: She highlighted the vital role of student activities in developing students’ personalities, teamwork, leadership, and creativity, as well as university opportunities to showcase students’ talents.

Dr. Shaimaa Abdullah – Lecturer, Adult Nursing Department: She stressed the importance of students adhering to regulations and instructions in lectures and labs, focusing on both scientific and practical aspects as a foundation for preparing distinguished nurses.
The orientation day was not just a brief meeting but a true start to a learning journey aimed at instilling a sense of belonging and responsibility in students, familiarizing them with their rights and duties, and opening doors for active participation in all the academic and extracurricular opportunities offered by the faculty.
The key message of this event was clear: success is achieved through commitment, diligence, and teamwork. Each student is a partner in raising the name of the faculty and university high through their achievements inside and outside the classroom.
