This Department has en established to equip the student nurse as well as assist postgraduate candidate with knowledge, skills and attitudes  and all updates which necessary to provide care effectively for women during pregnancy, labor and delivery, post- partum period and to provide care to newborn as well. Major bio-psycho-social-spiritual concepts related to the mother and fetus / neonate in the ante-partum, intra-partum and postpartum periods are emphasized. It also familiarizes and help in intervene , practice evidence –based research with the concept of high-risk pregnant women and facilitates critical thinking and utilizing all high tech related resources in providing nursing care
