Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, the university is organizing a conference entitled “CLIMATE CHANGE AND THE NEED FOR ONE WORLD... ONE HEALTH APPROACH”, with the participation of the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Veterinary Medicine and Physical Therapy, and the Faculties of Agriculture and Fisheries “on 5th of October and for a period of 3 days, at the Gravity Sahl Hasheesh Resort “Hurghada”, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abd El-Aal, Vice President of Kafrelsheikh University For Education and Student Affairs, and the General Coordinator of the Conference, Prof. Hasan Younis, in the presence of Prof. Youssef El-Gharbawy, President of South Valley University; Prof. Dr. Nasser Mandour, President of Suez Canal University; Prof. Dr. Ali Abu Shusha and Prof. Dr. Reda Saleh, the two former Vice Presidents of the University; Prof. Dr. Ismail Al-Qun, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine; Prof. Ramadan Al-Doumani, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Prof. Dr. Enas El-Gendy, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry; Prof. Dr. Yehia Zakaria, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, and a group of staff members from Egyptian universities in the fields of veterinary medicine, human medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physical therapy, science, and agriculture.
The themes of the conference includes: climate change and its impact on plants and human societies, the impact of climate change on education and health, the green economy, and the role of universities in raising awareness of climate change.
The conference aims to support research and development in applied projects related to the themes of climate change and the development of scientific research in this field, in addition to integration with various parties to limit climate changes, and enhance Egypt’s role in the file of climate changes worldwide.
Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of Kafrelsheikh University, stresses that the university believes in the importance of dealing seriously with these climatic changes via several themes, including reducing any negative impact of activities inside the university on the climate, dealing positively with the effects of climate change, and effectively contributing to improving the environment to face climate changes.
He explains that the university is striving to maintain the sustainability of natural resources by launching several initiatives to rationalize consumption, noting that the university has a distinguished ranking among the green international universities that are environmentally friendly, as well as encouraging staff members and researchers to submit applicable research projects in the field of reducing the effects of climate changes.
