Kafrelsheikh University Launches a Medical Convoy for “Karakat Village”

  Today Monday 22/2/2021, under the patronage of the President Prof Dr Abed EL-Raziq Desouky and Prof Dr Reda Salih, the vice president for community service and environment development and in coordination with the Ministry of Health represented in the Directorate of Health Affairs in Kafrelsheikh, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector organizes a medical convoy organized by the Faculty of Medicine for the people of the village of "Karakat and neighboring Villages” subordinate to Beila Center with the aim of providing medical services.

The campaign is supervised by Prof Dr Tarek Abed El-Baqi, the vice dean of the Faculty of Medicine for community service and environment development affairs, a team from the general administration of youth welfare and Mr Nafeh Hamada, the Director General of the General Administration of Environmental Projects.

Prof Dr Reda Salih, the vice president for community service and environment development affairs, says that this medical campaign includes a group of specialized and distinguished doctors in the specialties of Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dermatology and Venereology, Neuro Surgery, Pediatric. All patients visiting the campaign has taken the drugs for free.

As well, the President Prof Dr Abed El-Raziq Desouki confirms that these medical campaigns are considered one of the most important means of serving the environmental community and are held in activation of the university's role in reaching medical service to patients from the people of the province most in need of care to facilitate them, providing the service to the fullest and dispensing the necessary treatment free of charge as diagnosis is done and drugs are distributed free of charge to 1421 from the people of Karakat village and the surrounding villages.

The President states that organizing medical campaigns comes within the framework of the university's societal role to provide its services, as the university believes in the importance of community participation.

Otherwise, the president also adds that the university seek to provide medical services to the largest number of citizens and to provide them with the necessary examination, diagnosis and treatment in an advanced manner, as the university aims to promote health, social, environmental and intellectual development and to provide a distinguished medical service for the unable classes.

 

Dr Desouky mentions that a large number of people flock to the campaign to take advantage of it, indicating that these medical campaigns will continue in the villages of the governorate to provide medical support and pointing to the university administration’s keenness to organize campaigns of all kinds, both human, veterinary and agriculture to serve the surrounding community and aim to reach remote places to fulfill its developmental and service mission and to benefit from the university's specialized scientific competencies.
