Conclusion of the Training Program on Surgical and Anesthesia Policies and Procedures at Kafrelsheikh University Hospital
Part of the Hospital's Efforts to Achieve Quality Accreditation and Join the Universal Health Insurance System
The training program on surgical and anesthesia policies and procedures concluded after three intensive days of sessions. The program was attended by 144 physicians and 285 nursing staff from the surgical and anesthesia departments.
This initiative comes as part of Kafrelsheikh University Hospital’s ongoing efforts to strengthen a culture of quality and implement approved clinical policies and procedures. The program was held under the patronage of Prof. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of Kafrelsheikh University, and under the supervision of Prof. Taha Ismail, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board, as well as Dr. Gamal Shams, Director of the Main University Hospital.
Prof. Abdelrazek Desouky stated that the training program aligns with the hospital's strategic plan to enhance the competency of medical and nursing staff and to ensure compliance with the highest standards of quality and patient safety, in accordance with national accreditation requirements.
He added that the program focused on comprehensively explaining all surgical policies and discussing key aspects to guarantee effective and safe implementation in operating rooms and surgical wards, thereby boosting the capabilities of healthcare teams and ensuring optimal patient safety.
Prof. Taha Ismail explained that the Medical Training and Continuing Education Unit at the hospital was responsible for the full preparation, coordination, and execution of the training program, led by Dr. Basma Ghoneim, Director of the Training and Continuing Education Unit.
The Quality Assurance Unit took the lead in presenting and interpreting the policies and procedures covered in the program.
It is worth noting that such training programs are held regularly, aiming to achieve 100% training coverage of all healthcare service providers, and to update all policies and practices in line with quality standards and accreditation requirements.
