As part of the Presidential Initiative “A New Beginning for Building the Human Being”
In cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports

On Wednesday, December 25, 2024, the Scout and Public Service Administration at the General Directorate of Student Welfare, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Drug Abuse, the General Secretariat of Mental Health at the Ministry of Health, and the Health Sciences Foundation for Healthcare, organized a comprehensive medical, awareness, and rehabilitation convoy in El-Dawaida Village and its surrounding underserved areas, at the West El-Dawaida Health Unit – Qomsion, under the patronage of:

  • Prof. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of Kafrelsheikh University

  • Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Aal, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs

  • Prof. Roshdy El-Adawy, General Coordinator of Student Activities

This convoy comes as part of the national human development project “A New Beginning for Building the Human Being”, launched per the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which aims to implement diverse programs, services, and activities for all age groups across all governorates. It reflects the political leadership’s vision to build an advanced and integrated society through collaborative national efforts.
This convoy is a continuation of the university’s series of outreach missions in the neediest villages of the governorate.

Prof. Abdelrazek Desouky, University President, affirmed the university’s ongoing commitment to launching medical and awareness convoys in underserved areas throughout Kafrelsheikh Governorate, to provide quality medical services and support the Presidential Initiative "Decent Life" (Hayah Karima).
He praised the outstanding role of the qualified medical teams, including faculty members and doctors from the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, and Nursing, in delivering excellent healthcare services to the public.

Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Aal, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, stated that the convoy is part of the “New Beginning” initiative, aiming to offer top-tier medical, therapeutic, educational, and recreational services to citizens. It also reflects the university's ongoing efforts in community engagement, and the continued provision of healthcare services in coordination with relevant authorities.

The convoy provided medical check-ups for a large number of citizens across various specialties, including:

  • Pediatrics

  • Dentistry

  • General Surgery

  • Internal Medicine

  • Dermatology

  • Ophthalmology

  • ENT

  • Neurology and Psychiatry

  • Obstetrics and Gynecology

  • Neurosurgery

  • Urology

  • Orthopedics

  • Cardiology and Vascular Medicine

  • Nursing Clinic for measuring blood sugar, blood pressure, obesity, underweight, stunting, and family health awareness,
    with the active participation of the University Scouts and Public Service Student Team.

A total of 1,512 individuals from El-Dawaida and surrounding villages received medical consultations, conducted by a group of distinguished specialists.
Medications were provided free of charge to all patients, and 18 cases were referred to Kafrelsheikh University Hospital for further treatment.
Additionally, the nursing clinic served 277 individuals for vital checks and health assessments.

The convoy also included awareness campaigns about:

  • The dangers of drug abuse to individuals and society

  • How to address parental smoking habits

  • The role of youth in combating addiction

These sessions were conducted by volunteers from the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Drug Abuse, alongside the University Scout and Public Service Team.

Another campaign focused on positive mental health and psychological awareness for village residents.
