The two-day conference was attended by a distinguished group of professors and faculty members from the Cardiology Department and other medical departments, along with expert professors from various Egyptian universities.
In his speech, Prof. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, warmly welcomed the attendees from different Egyptian universities, thanking them for enduring the travel to participate in this important event. He emphasized that the Cardiology Department is a cornerstone of healthcare services at Kafrelsheikh University Hospitals and one of the key strengths of the Faculty of Medicine. The department is recognized for its excellence, leadership, community service, and contributions to scientific research and publishing.
He praised the department’s outstanding role in diagnosing and managing cardiac patients, noting its use of the latest internationally accredited medical equipment, its alignment with global medical practices, and its active participation in national health initiatives and presidential campaigns. These efforts have had a positive impact on the medical services provided to patients visiting the university hospital.
Prof. Desouky also called for increasing joint academic degrees between the Cardiology Department and other medical specialties due to the interdisciplinary nature of cardiology. This aligns with the university’s strategic goal to foster integration between departments and promote interdisciplinary and precision research, ultimately improving healthcare services and preparing graduates to meet the evolving demands of the job market.
Prof. Ismail El-Qen, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, praised the department's efforts in enhancing university hospitals at the diagnostic, therapeutic, and research levels. He highlighted the significant recent progress within the department and thanked its faculty for their collaboration with other university hospitals and medical departments to serve and ease the suffering of patients. He also emphasized the importance of directing scientific research toward practical applications, in line with Egypt Vision 2030, and expressed his hope that the conference would yield tangible recommendations that benefit the wider community.
In the same context, Prof. Amani Shaker, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, expressed her appreciation for the university administration, led by Prof. Abdelrazek Desouky, for their dedicated efforts and continuous support of the Faculty of Medicine. She noted the significant medical advancements achieved and commended the entire medical system at Kafrelsheikh University for its role in improving diagnostic and therapeutic services for millions of patients across the Delta region.
Prof. Taha Ismail, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, reviewed the department's development, including improvements in its administrative structure. He commended the Cardiology Department’s vital role in enhancing healthcare services at the university hospitals and praised the remarkable contributions of faculty members in scientific research and international publications. He noted that the department holds this conference regularly to discuss the latest developments in cardiology and promote exchange of knowledge and experiences among cardiology experts from various Egyptian universities.
