Launch of the Third Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Medicine, Kafrelsheikh University
On Sunday, December 29, 2024, Prof. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of Kafrelsheikh University, inaugurated the Third Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Medicine, held at the Seminar Hall. The event is organized by the Faculty from December 29 to 30 under the patronage of Prof. Abdelrazek Desouky, University President, and Prof. Ismail El-Qen, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research. The conference aims to highlight the scientific and community services offered by the Faculty of Medicine.

In his opening speech, Prof. Abdelrazek Desouky welcomed the attendees and participants of the conference, which includes a prominent group of specialists in medical sciences from Egyptian universities and the Ministry of Health. He emphasized the importance of presenting and discussing the latest advancements in diagnosis and treatment across medical specialties, to enhance healthcare services. He expressed his gratitude to the organizing and scientific committees for their outstanding efforts, and thanked the keynote speakers, participants, sponsors, and guests, wishing all attendees a productive and enriching experience. He also praised the fruitful cooperation between the university and the Ministry of Health, which contributes to the development of the healthcare system in line with the initiatives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Prof. Desouky explained that the goal of this conference is to improve and develop the quality of healthcare services, as well as enhance the efficiency of healthcare providers—including doctors, practitioners, and academic staff—through networking, experience exchange, and staying updated with new technologies in medical treatment. He emphasized the importance of addressing the challenges faced by patients and healthcare workers in the field.
He also reiterated the university’s strong commitment to scientific research, stating that conferences, workshops, and seminars are crucial platforms for academic generations to meet, exchange experiences, and communicate ideas that lead to innovation. The university is keen on continuous professional development of its academic staff through training and hosting scientific events to discuss the latest research findings, benefiting students, graduates, and postgraduates alike. He praised the significant contributions of the Faculty of Medicine, especially in community service and the advancement of the healthcare system.
In a related statement, Prof. Ismail El-Qen, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, praised the university’s unwavering support for the Faculty of Medicine through the provision of resources, facilities, and research funding, as well as the enhancement of its research and technological infrastructure. He highlighted the national focus on the healthcare sector and emphasized the vital role of the Faculty of Medicine in improving the healthcare system through diagnostic, therapeutic, and research advancements. He also noted the importance of directing scientific research toward practical applications aligned with Egypt’s Vision 2030, stressing that such scientific conferences are essential for exchanging expertise and addressing societal challenges, while showcasing the university's active role across all sectors. He expressed his hope that the conference would produce concrete recommendations that serve the wider community.
Prof. Taha Ismail, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, reviewed the faculty's achievements and recent developments, including administrative advancements. He praised the Faculty’s role in enhancing healthcare services at Kafrelsheikh University Hospitals and commended the outstanding performance of faculty members in scientific research and international publication. He added that the Faculty holds this conference regularly to showcase updates in the medical field and to promote knowledge-sharing among specialists from various Egyptian universities.
