Kafrelsheikh University Promotes in the Global Ranking of Times Higher Education Young University Rankings

 The university has achieved a new achievement in international rankings, according to Times Higher Education Young University Rankings, under 50 years old for 2022, as the university appears in the top 350-400 universities worldwide.

The President Prof. Dr.Abdelrazek Youssef Desouky announces that the university has made remarkable progress for the emerging economies countries, and ranks No 160th this year at the level of the world’s universities in Times Higher Education Young University Rankings and the university promotes 23 places from last year, as the university’s ranking was No 183 Last year, Kafrelsheikh University is in fourth place locally out of 29 Egyptian universities in the ranking.

As well, the President stresses that the progress in international rankings is a result of the policy pursued by the university to encourage distinguished scientific research, and the university administration’s keenness to take serious and quick steps to reach the level of prestigious universities globally by providing the necessary capabilities to upgrade the academic and research system, which resulted in the university’s progress over the last year, as the university was among the top 550-600 universities in the world.

Prof. Dr.Abdelrazek Youssef Desouky, the President of the University, explains that the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings for 2022 includes 29 Egyptian universities and the ranking of universities is done according to many criteria divided into five main criteria: teaching, international reputation, university income from the industrial sector, scientific research and economic return, the number of citations of university researches, the extent of the university's communication with the local community, the international dimension, as the number of international students, the number of regular students, the male-to-female ratio, and the student-staff members ratio are used.

The president indicates that this ranking is a strong international recognition of the university's development in education and scientific research, noting that international rankings contribute significantly to improving the international reputation of the university in particular and Egypt in general in the field of higher education and scientific research.

Prof. Hasan Younis, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, reveals that the British Times Ranking is one of the best international rankings and is based on major indicators with a number of detailed sub-criteria, including the fields of education, the educational environment, scientific research, the volume of published researches, income from scientific research and reputation, citations "research impact", international relations, staff members and students, researches, industry income, knowledge transfer of innovations, and patents".
