Today Sunday 1/11/2020, the President Prof Dr Abed El-Raziq Desouki announces that the university has achieved advanced positions in the British Times Ranking of Universities by subject for the year 2021, so Kafrelsheikh University appeared among the top 500 universities in the field of engineering for the first time and ranks No “301 -400”.
In the life sciences, the university advances 100 places from the last year as it ranks No 401-500.
In physics, it ranks No 301-400 and advances 100 places from the last year.
Kafrelsheikh University ranks the first place in life sciences, the second place in physics and the third place in engineering in THE World University Rankings by Subject 2021.
Prof Dr Hasan Youness, the vice president for post-graduation studies and research mentions that the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021 includes five specializations such as: computer sciences, clinical and health, engineering, life sciences and physical sciences. the ranking depends on main indicators that contain a number of detailed sub-criteria, including the educational fields “educational environment by 30%”, scientific research “size of published researches, income from scientific research and reputation by 30%”, citations “research effect by 30%”, international relations “staff members, students and researches by 7.5%”, industry income “transfer knowledge from innovations and patents by 2.5%”.
Prof Dr Abed El-Raziq Desouky praises the new achievement and progress of the university in the international ranking "British Times", confirming the university’s interest in developing the scientific research system and supporting researchers with the necessary capabilities to increase the number of research and international participation to achieve advanced centers in international ranking in various disciplines.
As well, the President Prof Dr Abed El-Raziq Dosouki explains that this ranking is a strong international recognition of the university’s development in education and scientific research, noting that international rankings contribute greatly to improving the international reputation of the university in particular and Egypt in general in the field of higher education and scientific research.
The president also emphasized on maximizing the utilization of the scientific devices in the faculties and central laboratories of the university to encourage applied scientific research, international scientific publishing, application to competitive projects and fulfillment of international rankings requirements.
