25/2/2026

In line with the university’s commitment to instilling a culture of volunteerism and strengthening national belonging, students enrolled in the Military Education course at the university participate in a blood donation campaign organized inside the University Hospital. Through their participation, they affirm their awareness of their societal role and their responsibility to support the healthcare sector and contribute to saving patients’ lives.

Prof. Yahya Eid confirms that the university places the development of students’ societal awareness and the instillation of values of giving and sacrifice at the top of its priorities. He praises the consistent participation of military education students in blood donation campaigns, which reflects their understanding of the importance of this humanitarian role in supporting patients—especially in departments that require continuous blood supplies, such as emergency units, oncology patients, and pediatric cases.

Otherwise, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine points out that blood donation represents one of the most important forms of human solidarity, as it directly contributes to saving patients’ lives. He also highlights its positive health impacts on the donor, including stimulating blood circulation and encouraging bone marrow to produce new blood cells. In addition, donation can serve as a therapeutic procedure in certain medical conditions, such as polycythemia vera.

The campaign activities include an awareness session to educate participants about the importance of blood donation, its conditions, and its benefits. Emphasis is placed on the need to sustain such initiatives to meet the ongoing blood unit requirements of the university hospitals.

This participation reflects the spirit of cooperation and solidarity between the students of Kafrelsheikh University and their community, reaffirming that humanitarian work remains one of the fundamental pillars of the university’s mission.
