The University's Participation in the Coordinating Training Program for the National Reading Project at Qersh Camp in Ismailia

 Within the framework of the fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the National Reading Project, Kafrelsheikh University participates in the activities of the coordinating training program for coordinators of the National Reading Project and directors of youth welfare at universities.

Prof. Ismail Ismail Ibrahim, Acting President of the University, affirms that the university's participation in this training program stems from its deep belief in the role of reading in shaping the personality of university students and developing their intellectual and cultural capabilities. He points out that the National Reading Project is one of the leading national projects that contributes to establishing awareness, enhancing belonging, and building generations capable of thinking and creativity.

Otherwise, Prof. Rushdy Al-Adawy, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and General Coordinator of Student Activities, explains that the coordinating training program represents an important step toward unifying work mechanisms within universities and enabling project coordinators to perform their roles efficiently, especially after the inclusion of the National Reading Project in the student activities plan for the academic year 2025–2026. He confirms that the university is working to provide all necessary support to ensure the expansion of student participation and achieve maximum benefit from the project across various faculties.

Dr. Osama Wafa, the university's coordinator for the National Reading Project, notes that the training program provides an important opportunity to learn about the project's philosophy, objectives, and implementation mechanisms, in addition to discussing challenges that may face application within universities and exchanging experiences with coordinators from other universities. He adds that the upcoming phase will witness intensified efforts within the university to spread the culture of reading and motivate students for active participation, contributing to building sustainable cultural awareness.

 

The training program featured introductory and interactive sessions covering registration mechanisms for the project, the roles of university and faculty coordinators, ways of coordination with youth welfare departments, as well as discussing previous experiences and analyzing success models to enhance effective implementation on the ground.
