Competitions of Group Five in the 53rd Martyr El-Refai Basketball League – Male Students

 Kafrelsheikh University hosts the university basketball (men’s) championship as part of the 53rd Martyr El-Refai League, with Group Five matches taking place from November 16 to 18, 2025. Participating universities are Alexandria National University, the Egyptian E-Learning University, Alamein International University, and Kafrelsheikh University.

Prof. Ismail Ismail Ibrahim, Acting President of the University, confirms that Kafrelsheikh University is proud to host the 53rd edition of the Martyr El-Refai Basketball League, one of the most important sporting events on the Egyptian university calendar. “We view sport as an integral part of the educational system, not merely an extracurricular activity; it builds character and develops leadership and teamwork skills among students,” he says.

The president adds that every effort had been made to provide all necessary facilities to ensure the championship reflects positively on the university’s reputation and serves as a model for hosting major student events. He confirms that such tournaments open wider horizons for talent discovery and instill the values of fair competition and belonging in the hearts of young people.

 

Otherwise, Prof. Rushdy El-Adawy, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and General Coordinator of Student Activities, explains that hosting Group Five of the basketball competition at Kafrelsheikh University demonstrates the institution’s real readiness and well-established organizational capabilities, qualifying it to stage championships at the highest level. “We are working with a vision that goes beyond simply holding a sporting event; we aim to create a complete experience that enhances sports awareness and leadership culture among students,” he adds.
