The University Council holds its monthly meeting for October 2025, chaired by Prof. Ismail Ismail Ibrahim, Acting President of the University, and attended by the honorable members of the Council. The meeting takes place on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, in the Grand Meeting Hall at the General Administration headquarters.
Prof. Ismail Ismail Ibrahim opens the session by welcoming the Council members, appreciating their efforts in elevating the university system and developing performance across various sectors. He confirms that the current period is witnessing notable activity in the fields of education, training, scientific research, and community service. He points out that the university is steadily progressing toward achieving its strategic vision of becoming one of the distinguished universities locally and regionally.
During the meeting, the President reviews a detailed report on the regularity of the educational process since the launch of the new academic year. He confirms that the university's faculties have witnessed remarkable discipline in the conduct of lectures, attendance of staff members and students, and precise follow-up by university leadership to ensure the implementation of regulations and rules governing academic work.
The President also confirms the importance of student activities and their role in building the student's personality and honing their skills. He notes that the university administration gives special attention to student participation in cultural, scientific, artistic, and sports events through student unions and university families, in support of young leadership and instilling values of belonging, citizenship, and national awareness.
The Council reviews a report on the activities of the Community Service and Environmental Development sector, and what is implemented during October, including medical, veterinary, and awareness convoys in a number of villages and centers in Kafrelsheikh Governorate. These provide free medical services to residents as part of presidential initiatives, foremost among them the “Dignified Life” initiative and “Together with Awareness, We Protect It,” with participation from the Faculties of Medicine, Nursing, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy.
In the context of discussing topics in the Postgraduate Studies and Research sector, the Council addresses efforts to support researchers, encourage scientific publication in international journals, and increase the number of applied research linked to the needs of the local community and industry, in implementation of the state's strategy to support innovation and link scientific research to sustainable development.
The Council also discusses a number of academic and administrative topics, including developing study programs in accordance with labor market requirements, and supporting interdisciplinary programs and modern specializations in the fields of artificial intelligence, digital transformation, renewable energy, and biotechnology, to enhance the competitiveness of university graduates locally and regionally.
The Council also approves the appointment of 1 professor, 6 assistant professors, and 3 lecturers; the awarding of a master's degree to 43 researchers; a doctorate degree to 17 researchers; a professional master's degree to 29 researchers; and a professional doctorate degree to 5 researchers.
