The president highlights that this accomplishment reflects the distinguished academic and research standing of the university and underscores the efforts to support staff members and researchers, encouraging them to publish in prestigious international scientific journals. This contributes to elevating the university’s regional and global rankings.
He further explains that Stanford’s list of the world’s most influential scientists is one of the most prominent international indicators, published annually by Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier. It includes an elite group of researchers ranked in the top 2% globally across 22 scientific fields, based on rigorous criteria such as citation counts, h-index, journal quality, and research productivity. This makes it a global benchmark for assessing scientists’ impact and helps academic institutions develop research policies and enhance their international standing.
The president expresses his pride in this achievement, noting that the Faculty of Agriculture led the list with 10 scientists, followed by 8 from the Faculty of Engineering, 3 from the Faculty of Science, 4 from the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence, 3 from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, 3 from the Faculty of Pharmacy, and one each from the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and the Faculty of Fisheries.
Prof. Hasan Younis, Executive Director of Development Projects and Supervisor of the University Ranking Support Unit, confirms that the inclusion of this elite group of Kafrelsheikh University scientists in the 2025 Stanford list reflects the high quality of their research output. It also serves as an incentive for future generations of researchers to exert greater efforts to enhance the university’s global standing.
