The Social Solidarity Unit at Kafrelsheikh University Shines at the "START" Summit 2024/2025

 The Social Solidarity Unit at Kafrelsheikh University, in cooperation with the General Administration for Student Welfare at the university, participates in the activities of the "START" Summit for the 2024/2025 academic year. The event is organized by the Ministry of Social Solidarity in Cairo, with wide participation from Social Solidarity Units across various Egyptian universities, under the patronage and presence of Dr. Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity.

Prof. Ismail Ismail Ibrahim, Acting President of Kafrelsheikh University, states that the summit witnesses the honoring of the university’s Social Solidarity Unit team in recognition of their outstanding efforts in implementing community and awareness-raising activities within the university, as well as their effective contributions in supporting students both academically and socially. This aligns with the Ministry's vision of promoting protection and empowerment within university communities.

The Acting President points out that the university presents an exemplary model of community engagement during the summit. The Minister of Social Solidarity honors the best exemplary female volunteer from the unit, recognizing her remarkable efforts and continuous dedication in serving her fellow students. The university also stands out with the presentation of an innovative graduation project entitled "IOT Modern Renewable Wheelchair", prepared by an engineering student team. The project aims to support and empower people of determination and reflects the students’ awareness of social inclusion and sustainable development issues.

In this context, Prof. Ismail Ismail Ibrahim expresses his great happiness and pride in the participation of the Social Solidarity Unit in the summit and the well-deserved recognition and praise it received. He affirms the university’s strong support for all initiatives that enhance the role of university students in serving their communities.

Prof. Ismail confirms that Kafrelsheikh University firmly believes in the role of Social Solidarity Units as a key pillar in supporting university youth, developing their skills, and providing a comprehensive educational and societal environment that contributes to preparing graduates who are aware of national issues and capable of creativity and giving.

The President also commends the significant efforts made by the Ministry of Social Solidarity, under the leadership of Dr. Maya Morsy, in supporting these inspiring youth initiatives, which contribute to building a more aware and cohesive university community. He expresses his hope for strengthening cooperation in the near future to expand these activities across all faculties of the university.

 

It is worth noting that the summit witnesses the participation of more than 16,000 male and female students from various universities, with a focus on the importance of training and capacity-building as key entry points for developing students’ personalities and achieving integration between academic knowledge and life and professional skills.
