The meeting witnessed broad participation from key executive, religious, and cultural leaders in the governorate, including: Dr. Mohamed Abu El-Saad, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health; Mr. El-Sayed Mosallam, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Solidarity; Dr. Alaa Gouda, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education; Dr. Ezzat Mahrous, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports; Dr. Ihab Shokry, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Veterinary Medicine; Sheikh Moein Ramadan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf; Father Boutros Bastawros, General Vicar of the Kafrelsheikh and Damietta Diocese and St. Demiana Monastery; Dr. Ahmed El-Shahawy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture; Mr. Ibrahim Ghoneim, Head of the Literacy Authority in Kafrelsheikh; and representatives of the media and civil society institutions.
Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of Kafrelsheikh University, affirmed that the presidential initiative aligns with Egypt’s national strategy, led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to build a comprehensive national awareness that strengthens the values of belonging and citizenship and protects society from intellectual, social, and environmental challenges.
He emphasized that the university plays a pivotal role in supportingح sustainable development efforts—not only through education and scientific research—but also through meaningful community engagement.
"Awareness is the first line of defense to protect the nation. Kafrelsheikh University will always be at the forefront of supporting state initiatives, promoting positive culture, and strengthening national values," said Dr. Desouky.
For her part, Dr. Amani Shaker explained that the initiative aims to confront rumors, combat harmful behaviors and extremist ideologies, and raise awareness on state issues, environmental challenges, and climate change. This will be done through caravans, workshops, seminars, and educational activities carried out in coordination with the concerned ministries and the National Council for Women.
She also stressed the importance of fostering effective societal partnerships between the university and official institutions, as well as empowering families to build a cohesive society through conscious education and responsible guidance to ensure state stability and intellectual and social security.
It is worth noting that the initiative aims to reinforce national identity, promote respect for the law, combat rumors and extremism, educate families on how to counter them, empower women in their societal roles, and support youth as key partners in shaping the future. It also raises awareness about environmental, economic, and social issues impacting Egypt’s present and future.
Kafrelsheikh University reaffirms its commitment to continuing its awareness-raising and community service efforts through a series of activities and events under the initiative, in full coordination with partner ministries and institutions, to serve the people of the governorate and strengthen societal resilience.
