The president participates in the Meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities, held at the Egyptian-Japanese University of Science and Technology

 Today, Saturday, April 27, 2024, Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, participates in the meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities, headed by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in the presence of Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary of the Council and members of the Council, at the headquarters of the Egyptian-Japanese University of Science and Technology in Borg El Arab.

The president indicates that the council presents a report on the most prominent activities of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research during the month of April, and discusses a number of topics related to the educational, research and service process. The report indicates that many meetings are held with ambassadors and foreign officials to discuss mechanisms for enhancing joint scientific and research cooperation.

The President of Kafrelsheikh University confirms that during the council meeting, Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, confirms the need for universities and institutes to prepare for the second semester exams of the current academic year, directing that faculties quickly announce the exam schedules well in advance of their date, confirming the necessity of the presence of staff members and assistant staff at universities to ensure discipline and the success of examination procedures.

Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, points out the directive of the Minister of Higher Education and Practical Research, during the Council meeting, on the importance of activating the role of regional alliances that were signed between academic, production and industrial institutions, implementing the regional alliances plan to support scientific research for industry and the national economy, confronting the challenges facing the various geographical regions across the Republic, and supporting the transformation of educational institutions into innovative institutions that contribute to attracting distinguished scientific cadres, in implementation of the presidential initiative “Alliance and Development”, which enjoys the support and sponsorship of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, in line with achieving the objectives of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research.

 

The President explains that the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research confirms the need for universities to focus on scientific research and ideas that can be transformed into innovations and applicable products that have an economic impact on society, as well as linking the research product to industry, and directing scientific research to serve society, confronting the challenges facing economic growth, supporting the industrial community and the national economy, enhancing scientific and research cooperation among universities, the industrial and business community, and productive institutions, and employing the capabilities of academic and scientific institutions to serve all development needs facing geographical regions throughout the Republic, praising the role of universities in launching medical, veterinary and agricultural convoys, and the positive contribution to capacity building in the health, environmental, veterinary and social fields, in cooperation with the “Dignified Life” presidential initiative to activate the role of universities in serving society and developing the environment at the level of all governorates. The Minister praises the efforts of universities in developing students’ awareness, by organizing educational and awareness seminars, and organizing student trips to huge national projects, so that students become aware of the size of the projects that are being implemented in various parts of the Republic, in addition to developing loyalty and belonging among students and confronting destructive and abnormal ideas that threaten society and its principles.
