In its Fifty-fifth Session, the President witnesses the Conclusion of the Activities of the General Conference of the Association of Arab Universities in Tunisia

Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, witnesses the conclusion of the activities of the General Conference of the Association of Arab Universities in its fifty-fifth session, which is hosted by the Universities of Sousse and Monastir in the Republic of Tunisia, with the intensive presence of most Egyptian universities and the participation of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary General of the Association of Arab universities, many ministers of higher education in Arab countries, Ambassador Ehab Fahmy, Ambassador of Egypt to the Republic of Tunisia, and a group of presidents of Arab universities.

Dr. Abdel Razek Desouki explains that during the activities of the General Conference, several proposals are presented to exchange experiences, intensify joint cooperation between Arab universities, and present research ideas on digital transformation, food security and energy security, especially the negative effects of climate change. The conference also touches on several important issues, the work of the federation, approving the federation's budget, and discussing the activities and work of associations, councils and centers affiliated to the federation.

 

The president adds that the conference recommends increasing the activity of associations as they are the basic elements that disseminate throughout the Arab world, stressing that the most important projects that the union is working on are: the Arab University Classification Project, and the project of the Arab Universities Staff Members Platform, which aims to create a database for staff members in the Arab countries so that they can benefit from their experiences and can form scientific networks among them, conduct joint research and joint journals, and then open the platform to the community.
