The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Heads the meeting of the Board of Directors of Innovators Support Fund

The Board of Directors of Innovators Support Fund holds a meeting headed by Dr. Khaled Abed El-Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in the presence of Dr. Yasser Refaat, Deputy Minister for Scientific Research Affairs; Dr. Mahmoud Saqr, Head of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology; Dr. Mohammed Amer, Executive Director of the Fund; Dr. Walid El-Zawawi, Secretary General of the Council of Research Centers, Institutes and Bodies, and members of the Board of Directors, at the Ministry's headquarters.

During the meeting, Dr. Muhammad Amer reviews a report about the fund’s activity and work plan during the coming period, pointing out the most important achievements and challenges that the fund’s management face and updating the work plan for the coming period, as well as the most important programs and activities that will be completed or started to be implemented during the fiscal year 2022/2023.

The Director of the Innovators Support Fund also reviews the plan of programs for the year 2022, which is in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030, supports the innovations and ideas of researchers and has an economic return, noting that the plan includes programs (incubators - discovering innovators and entrepreneurs in Egypt in partnership with Egyptian universities - business accelerators in partnership with commercial institutions- qualifying researchers for entrepreneurship in research centers and universities-  Innovation Camp “I Camp” for students- innovators support program in universities- innovation incentive for university students to qualify them for international competitions- Change makers program for university students to support innovative ideas for student families within the scope of projects that serve the community- Applying Your Patent Program - An initiative towards a better innovative arrangement - The Innovation Club to support the ideas of high school students - The Eipic - Egypt program for school students - Scholarships for talented people - The program for disseminating a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship - the national conference of discovering and supporting the talented students and innovators and develop their abilities.

The Council agrees to sign a cooperation protocol with the Ibdaa Association for Educational Services, via launching the "Let our lives be creative" initiative to implement a number of training programs and various scientific trips for children of different age groups from 7 to 18 years old in the fields of aeronautics, space sciences and astronomy.

 

The council also agrees to support, sponsor and fund cases of researchers, innovators and talents, receive their research ideas and work to develop them, in a way that contributes to converting their innovative ideas into competitively marketable products, and helping to create marketing opportunities for them, as well as contributing to conducting market studies and feasibility studies, and making them available to researchers and innovators, helping them protect their intellectual property rights, and working to find opportunities for partnership between researchers, innovators and funding agencies; to implement projects based on the application of their research and innovative ideas.
