Awareness Seminar at the Faculty of Computers and Information on the Dangers of Social Media and Student Ethics

In line with implementing the state's and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's strategy aimed at spreading societal awareness and promoting positive behaviors among university students, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Kafrelsheikh University organizes an awareness seminar entitled "The Dangers of Social Media on Youth and Student Ethics within the University Campus" at the Faculty of Computers and Information.

Prof. Ismail Ismail Ibrahim, Acting President of the University, confirms that the university places great importance on spreading ethical and societal awareness among its students, stemming from its enlightening and educational role. He explains that modern technology, despite its numerous benefits, poses real challenges that necessitate enhancing digital awareness and safe internet usage skills.

Otherwise, Prof. Amany Shaker, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, points out that the seminar is part of a series of awareness events implemented by the sector in collaboration with religious and intellectual institutions to promote a culture of rational use of social media. She notes that youth are the group most exposed to the influences of social media, making their intellectual and ethical preparation a top priority.

In the same context, Prof. Osama Abu Saada, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information, confirms that the university operates according to an integrated vision aimed at immunizing youth minds against rumors and misleading content, and instilling values of belonging and responsibility. He confirms that awareness is the most important weapon in confronting the dangers of cyberspace.

Sheikh Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Chief Preacher and Fatwa Supervisor at the Kafrelsheikh Preaching Directorate, and Sheikh Ashraf Mohamed Khadr, Chief Preacher at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif lecture in the seminar as they present a series of awareness lectures addressing safe and responsible use of social media platforms and confirming the need to adhere to ethics and university values within the campus, enhancing the image of the aware and cultured university student.

The seminar concludes with recommendations confirming the need to activate ongoing awareness roles within faculties and enhance a culture of dialogue and digital responsibility, contributing to building a university generation equipped with knowledge, awareness, and ethical discipline in dealing with modern technology.
