Dr. Alkemary, President of kafrelshikh University, received on Wednesday an academic delegation from eight faculty members of British universities, the Royal Veterinary University, London School of Health and Tropical Medicine at the University of London, the International Institute of Living Research, the University of Stirling and the World Fish Center to recognize the role of the university in the fields of education and scientific research and community service and discuss ways and prospects for joint scientific cooperation and exchange of experiences between kafrelshikh University Kafr and British universities in the field of fish research.
Alkemary said that the visit comes within the framework of the university's strategy to support scientific and research cooperation with local and international universities to serve development. It’s one of the fruits of the president's visit to some British universities and research institutions last year. He added that kafrelshikh University has a scientific and research partnership with the University of Stirling and a joint research project in the field of increasing fish resistance and quality.
During the meeting, a discussion was held between the faculty members of these universities to supervise the scientific thesis for the students of the master's and doctorate degrees. The visit included joint research projects between kafrelshikh University and British universities and universities in Vietnam and Bangladesh in the use of antibiotics and alternatives such as probiotics to get rid of the bacteria that cause fish diseases, in addition to improving the level of immune response to fish to increase the rate of growth and quality of fish.
The program also included organizing seminars with researchers and business sectors ,owners of farm, feed mills and drug distributors.
