Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of Kafrelsheikh University, opened the activities of the Environmental Week for the faculties of Kafrelsheikh University, in the stadiums of the Faculty of Physical Education, in the period from 5-9 of this month of November.
This came in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Al, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Ismail Al-Qan, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. Amani Shaker, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Ali Sabry, Secretary-General of the University, deans of the university’s faculties, and a group of members. Faculty and university students.
The ceremony began with a parade queue for the university’s faculties, then a recitation of the Holy Qur’an, followed by a speech by Dr. Abdel Razek Desouki, President of Kafrelsheikh University, in which he praised the efforts of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector for its effective role in implementing many community activities that serve the projects and initiatives adopted by the state, such as the Hayat initiative. Karima, the 100 Million Trees Initiative, the National Project for Eradication of Illiteracy and Adult Education, and the Able to Differently Initiative to support people of determination, raise awareness of the seriousness of the population issue, confront the phenomenon of addiction and violence, and combat terrorism and other negative phenomena.
The President of Kafrelsheikh University emphasized that the Environmental Week sheds light on the university’s role as an educational institution in promoting positive environmental trends among university students, as they are the pillar of development in the future, and it is their responsibility to preserve the environment from pollution, pointing out that the week includes a series of educational and awareness-raising activities. Directed to all university employees to rationalize environmental behavior and increase knowledge of how to deal with environmental problems in an attempt to address them and solve them on sound scientific foundations.
