Comprehensive Exam for PhD

The exam aims to measure the student's ability in research, think, analyze, and his ability to understand subjects of main specialization and supporting disciplines and propose solutions in addition to general information, and students can pass through a period not less than three months and not exceeding twelve months from the date of approval of enrollment at the university

Students can‘t enroll in doctoral courses until after passing the comprehensive exam

 The College council shall be formed upon the approval of the relevant department council of the comprehensive examination committee of five professors or assistant professors specialists (whose fields vary from the general specialization of the student) from the college or outside, and that the composition is approved by deputy of the President of the university for graduate studies upon the proposal of the council of the department and the approval of the college council.

 The committee will identify the subjects in which the student will take the exam, including basic disciplines on the general field and its requirements and at a level commensurate with the degree of doctorate

 The student shall submit a request for the exam and the committee shall determine the date of the written examination and the time required for it

 The Committee shall declare the student's success satisfactory (S) or failure to estimate unsatisfactory (U), the commission is provided to the Under-Secretary for postgraduate studies as a result of the comprehensive examination in a report approved by the members of the Committee
