The President Opens Seminar about Diabetes


The president Prof Dr Maged el Kemary opens today Thursday 25/8/2016 the clinical seminar of diabetes organized by the Faculty of Medicine in participation with Delta & Canal Association of Diabetes (DCAD) in the seminar hall in the presence of the dean Prof Dr Hasan el Batti with the participation of professors and doctors of diabetes.

As well, el Kemary said that diabetes is one of the most common diseases in the world especially developing countries pointing out that the current statistics indicate that there are more than 28- million sufferers from Diabetes and this percentage will increase to 420 million in 2030.

The president adds that the efforts of scientists and their researches are always ongoing to find new drugs and invent ways to eliminate diabetes completely and with scientific progress and the emergence of technologies such as the use of stem cells or Nanotechnology technique, the scientists begin attempts to be applied in the treatment of diabetes.

Otherwise, El kemary mentions that new Nanotechnology devices are used to measure the proportions of insulin produced by the "beta cells" in the pancreas, pointing out that these devices are very sensitive during the measurement process, so they are alternatives to regular sugar devices through the blood.

The symposium discusses the latest protocols for the treatment of diabetes of the type 2, the role of beneficial bacteria in the treatment of diabetes and the latest protocols in the treatment of high fat percentage.
