The supreme council of universities agreed on its session on Saturday 22/4/2017 to establish an institution for discovery and development of drugs at Kafrelsheikh University to enhance the research abilities and pay attention to applied scientific research especially which affect the human health and community to participate in the integration of the university with the productive and service sectors in the local and international community.

As well, the president Prof Dr Maged el Kemary mentions that this institutions is the first applied research institution in the field of discovery and development of medicine in Arab Republic of Egypt and also the first institution in Arab region and South Africa region which puts Egypt in the forefront of countries interested in this vital area which contributes effectively not only in the field of public health, but also in economic development of these countries as well as reduce the gap between Egypt and developed world in the field of drug discovery and development.

He adds that the field of drug discovery is one of the promising fields for which major countries are pumping of dollars. The fervent race in the field of drug researches explains that this science will provide a new arrangement for nations in the ladder of progress for future decades and determine the most important differences among developed countries and the development of drugs means that one should get information about its sucking, distribution, the appropriate dose, the most appropriate way to take the drug, side effects, how to interact with others and its effectiveness compared to similar drugs.
