A Comprehensive Medical Awareness and Rehabilitation Convoy in Al-Saada Village, as part of the Presidential Initiative “A New Beginning for Human Building” in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth

The Department of Scouting and Public Service at the General Administration of Student Welfare, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Drug Control Fund, the General Secretariat for Mental Health at the Ministry of Health, and the Health Sciences Foundation for Health Care, organizes the “Comprehensive Rehabilitation Awareness Medical Convoy” on Thursday, 19/12/2024, in Al-Saada Village and the neighboring villages in Motobas Center, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University; Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdelaal, Vice President of the University for Education and Students’ Affairs, and Dr. Rushdy Al-Adawy, General Coordinator of Student Activities at the University, within the framework of launching the National Human Development Project “A New Beginning for Human Building”, based on the assignments of the President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi, to implement various programs, activities and services that include all age groups and cover all governorates of the Republic. This project is a reflection of the vision of the political leadership towards building an advanced and integrated society, as a result of the joint collective work of all ministries and state agencies, and as an extension of the series of convoys launched by the university in the neediest villages in the governorate.

Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, confirms the continuation of launching medical and awareness convoys for the most needy areas in all centers of Kafrelsheikh Governorate with the aim of providing medical services to citizens in the most needy villages and supporting the presidential initiative "Dignified Life", praising the role of qualified and distinguished medical teams, which include staff members and doctors from the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing, in providing distinguished medical services to patients.

Otherwise, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdelaal, Vice President of the University for Education and Students’ Affairs, points out that organizing these convoys is within the framework of the presidential initiative “A New Beginning for Human Building”, to provide the best medical, therapeutic, awareness and recreational services to citizens, and in continuation of the university’s efforts in community participation, and providing more medical services to the people of the governorate, in coordination and cooperation with the competent authorities.

A large number of citizens are examined in various medical specialties, which include “Ophthalmology - Dermatology - Cardiovascular - Pediatric - Neuro Surgery - Urology - Cardio-thoracic Surgery - Orthopedic Surgery - Internal Medicine - Diabetes and Endocrinology - General Surgery - Oto-Rhino-Laryngology (ENT) - Obstetrics and Gynecology - Dentistry – Prosthetics.” Nursing services such as measuring blood sugar, weight, height, blood pressure, and family awareness, with the participation of the university's scout family youth.

The medical convoy conducts medical examinations on 1,443 cases from the residents of Al-Saada village and neighboring villages, by a group of specialized and distinguished doctors in various specialties, as part of the Dignified Life Initiative. Free drugs are also provided to all patients visiting the convoy headquarters, and 12 cases are transferred to Kafrelsheikh University Hospital, and 248 cases are examined in the nursing clinic to measure sugar, blood pressure, obesity, thinness, and dwarfism.

 

An awareness campaign is also implemented on the dangers of drugs on the individual and society, how to deal with a smoking guardian, and the role of youth in confronting the drug problem, in which a number of volunteers from Drug Control Fund participate, along with the youth of the scouts’ Family and the University’s Public Service. An awareness campaign is also implemented on positive health and psychological awareness for the villagers.
