The president Prof Dr Maged el Kemary mentions that Kafrelsheikh University team has occupied the first place in designing electric car in Rally Electric Cars, Egypt 2018, which is the first of its kind in Egypt and held in the administrative capital under the auspices of the council of ministries and the support of scientific research academy. 29 universities have participated in different models and Kafrelsheikh University has ranked the fifth place in Rally.

As well, the president stresses his full support for such innovative competitions, explaining that this race is the beginning of era of electric car manufacture locally. El Kemary points out that Kafrelsheikh University students, participating in Rally, have undergone continuous exercises to qualify them for this stage. He also adds that the state has imported some components for the manufacture of cars, stressing that Egyptian component in these cars represents more than 65% based on the trend of state and government and the assignment of the President El Sisi to manufacture these electric cars.
