Introduction:

 

The department presents a program of oriental languages that aims at graduating

 

Students who are capable of:

1-Reading, writing and fluently speaking the oriental languages

2-Translating from and to Arabic

3-Perceiving the overall cultural framework of these languages

4-Communicating with other cultures from a strong background of his Arabic culture

5-Reading of Hebrew, Turkish and Urdu literature

 

The graduate must have acquired the knowledge and ability to understand:

 

1-Linguistic and grammatical rules for oriental languages

2-Common linguistic methods and literary expressions

3-Common literary and intellectual currents at oriental languages' heritage

4-Famous ancient writers and thinkers of the oriental languages' heritage and their most important productions

5-Basic concepts and knowledge in the field of literary theories

6-The most important linguistic and grammatical rules in Arabic

 

Professional skills:

 

The graduate must be capable of:

1-Employing the information and concepts he studied in his field of work.

2-Reading texts written in oriental languages

3-Translating texts from and to Arabic

4-Using correct linguistic rules in writing or delivering speeches

5-Employing various humanities in the practice of literary work and linguistic diversity

6-Using references of the language he learned

7-Making conversations with languages' natives

Mental skills:

The graduate should be capable of:

1-Recognizing contextual relationships of the different methods in oriental languages and distinguishing between them

2-Analysing and criticizing the oral and written texts of oriental languages

3-Perceiving linguistic and grammatical semantic and its evolution

4-Comparing between the Arabic culture and the culture of the language he studied

General skills

The graduate should be capable of:

1-Working in teamwork and leading a team

2-Express his thoughts in brief statements

3-Proposing suitable solutions to the problems that he may face

4-Communicating positively with others

5-Using IT in his field of study

6-Collecting and displaying information in an appropriate manner

7-Dealing efficiently with sources of information
