Historical background:

Faculty of arts was established at kafr el sheikh city, kafr el sheikh governorate, where the academic study started in the academic year 1992/1993 as academic classes affiliated to faculty of arts, Tanta University, and then it became an independent faculty as kafr el Sheikh University became an independent university on 1/8/2006, and so it became one of the cultural lighthouses at the region of kafr el sheikh, providing support for human thought through:

* Preparing specialized researchers at languages, literature and humanities in order to serve the community and achieve the desired communication between Arabic culture and foreign cultures.

* Participating in community development through: conducting researches which contribute in solving community problems, and also to be a part of designing development strategies.

*Department of Arabic language.

*Department of German language.

*Department of oriental languages (Islamic languages section-Hebrew language section).

*Department of sociology.

*Department of Geography (Geography and GIS section- Maps and GIS section)

*Department of libraries.

*Department of media (Press section- Radio and television section- Public relations section)

*Department of history.

*Department of philosophy (General section- Political philosophy section)

*Department of psychology.

*Department of monuments (Egyptian monuments section- Islamic monuments section- Greek and Roman monuments section)

The required period to obtain BA degree is four academic years, where the academic year is divided to two semesters; courses of the first semester are due by finishing first semester exams, the result of each student is announced –whether he succeeded or did not- at the end of the academic year (the end of the second semester).
