A Dutch delegation discusses common interests with Kafr El-Sheikh University in the field of climate change


Dr. Abdel Razek Desouki, President of Kafrelsheikh University, received a Dutch delegation headed by the Agricultural Counselor at the Dutch Embassy in Cairo, Millie Lenstra, and the membership of the Assistant Agricultural Counselor, Omar Mohamed Mohamed Abdel Latif, and 3 professors from the Dutch University of Waganagen, Dr. Jan Aart, Dr. Gerardus Wilhelmus, and Dr. Angel de Miguel Garcia.

 

This came in the presence of Dr. Hassan Younis, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Dr. Reda Saleh, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Yahya Zakaria Eid, Acting Dean of the College of Agriculture, Dr. Farouk Al-Aidi, the principal researcher for joint research projects with the Dutch side, and Dr. Mohamed Rajab Ghanem, Vice President. Director of International Relations at the University.

 

The visit comes within the framework of following up on international research projects funded by the Dutch side with the Faculty of Agriculture, Kafrelsheikh University, and discussing common research interests, especially in the field of climate change and sustainable agriculture, to identify future aspects of cooperation.

 

The Dutch delegation visited the Horticulture Department’s farm and the college’s protected agriculture site to learn about the available possibilities. Members of the research team from the faculty of the Department of Horticulture, Lands, and Agricultural Engineering also met with the visiting delegation.
