It comes to you as a continuation of the “Get Green” initiative that was implemented at the university and within the framework of what the Ministry’s National Program is providing technical support and raising the capabilities of workers to manage waste within the governorate, and the faculty members that Kafr El Sheikh University includes who possess scientific and applied expertise in the field of service. Society and environment and its activities in the fields of waste recycling, biofuel production, renewable energy, and others.
The Minister of Environment explained that, through this protocol, all parties will seek to provide technical support, represented in training and awareness activities and programs for the integrated waste management system in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, in order to achieve the public interest of the new waste management system.
Training students and graduates on integrated waste management systems
Fouad confirmed that the protocol includes the role of the Ministry’s national program in building capacity through the implementation of training courses and awareness workshops for university employees and students and those working in waste management in the governorate in environmental fields, especially the field of integrated waste management, and training students during summer practical training, especially students of engineering colleges. Science and agriculture on integrated waste management systems, as well as training graduates and providing information materials for awareness in various environmental fields, in addition to scientific cadres presenting specialized lectures conducted by the university in environmental fields that fall under the activity of the first party.
The protocol also included the university’s role in nominating students from the university’s faculties to attend training courses and workshops, and the participation of university professors in implementing training courses and workshops by providing specialized lectures, in accordance with each training program, in addition to the program’s participation in implementing activities such as cleaning beaches, the “Prepare for Green” initiative. ", an initiative to raise awareness about segregation at the source, an initiative to change citizens' behavior so as not to throw waste in the streets or on the sides of canals and drains.
She indicated that it will be agreed upon in the future, in addition to the governorate’s role in implementing field visits for trainees to facilities for integrated waste management within the governorate and coordinating with the National Solid Waste Management Program regarding the awareness and training process. The parties also agreed to form a joint committee from all parties to issue a decision.
