Policy Statement
Kafrelsheikh University prohibits the offering, giving, soliciting, or accepting of any bribe, whether directly or indirectly, and regardless of the form it takes, including financial or non-financial benefits, favors, gifts, or hospitality. This prohibition applies to all employees, students, contractors, agents, and representatives of the University, both in their dealings with other employees and external parties.
Compliance with Laws and Regulations
The University is committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations related to bribery and corruption, including the Egyptian Penal Code and other relevant legislation. Employees and stakeholders are expected to familiarize themselves with these laws and regulations and adhere to them in all their activities on behalf of the University.
Reporting Procedures
Any employee, student, contractor, or stakeholder who becomes aware of or suspects any form of bribery or corruption involving the University or its representatives is encouraged to report it immediately. Reports can be made confidentially and without fear of retaliation to the University's designated compliance officer or through an anonymous reporting mechanism, such as a dedicated hotline or email address.
Consequences of Non-Compliance
Any violation of this policy will be taken seriously and may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or academic dismissal, as well as legal proceedings where appropriate. The University reserves the right to take legal action against individuals or entities involved in bribery or corruption, whether internal or external to the organization.
Training and Awareness
Kafrelsheikh University will provide regular training and awareness programs to employees, students, contractors, and stakeholders to educate them about the risks of bribery and corruption and the importance of compliance with this policy. Training will cover topics such as recognizing bribery and corruption, reporting procedures, and ethical decision-making.
Responsibilities of Management
Senior management and leadership at all levels of the University are responsible for setting a tone of zero tolerance for bribery and corruption and for ensuring that adequate controls and procedures are in place to prevent and detect instances of bribery and corruption. Managers and supervisors are also responsible for promoting a culture of integrity, accountability, and ethical behavior among their teams.
Review and Revision
This policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure its effectiveness and relevance in preventing bribery and corruption. Any necessary revisions will be made in consultation with relevant stakeholders and in accordance with changes in laws, regulations, and best practices.
