BIOGRAPHY
-Dr. Mohamed Zaki
Khedr is a Professor of Petrology and Geochemistry (especially geochemistry of economic minerals in igneous and metamorphic rocks) at Geology Department, Faculty
of Science, Kafrelsheikh University, Egypt since July 2020.
-Dr. Khedr got his
undergraduate degree (B.Sc of Geology) from Tanta University, Egypt in 1997 and
his Master degree (Mineralogy and Petrology) from Tanta University in 2004. Dr.
Khedr received his Ph.D. degree (Mineralogy and Geochemistry) from Graduate
School of Natural Science and Technology, Kanazawa University, Japan in 2010.
-From
1999 to the current time, Dr. Khedr was a Faculty Member at Geology Department,
Faculty of Science, Kafrelsheikh University, Egypt. He was appointed in September
1999 as a Demonstrator (1999 - 2004) of Geology and nominated to Assistant
lecturer of Geology (June 2004 - May 2010), Assistant Professor of Geochemistry
(May 2010-June 2015), Associate Professor of Geochemistry and Petrology (June
2015- July 2020) and finally Full Professor of Geochemistry and Petrology (July
2020-Now).
-From 2011 to 2013, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Graduate
School of Natural Science and Technology, Kanazawa University, Japan. From 2013
to 2014, he got a Postdoctoral Fellow (JSPS: Japan Society for the Promotion of
Science) at Kanazawa University, Japan. Dr. Khedr was a visiting Professor at Kanazawa
University, Japan in June-July2016 and July2018. He received a postdoctoral Scholarship at Graduate School of Natural Science
and Technology, Niigata University, Japan in 2019-2020 and got JSPS Bridge Scholarship at Kanazawa University, Japan in August 2022. He was a visiting Professor at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi
Arabia in February
2023.
-Dr. Khedr has been teaching several courses to undergraduate, Master and
PhD students such as Geochemistry, Petrology, Mineralogy, Geoctectonics,
Precambrian Geology, Crystallography, and Field Geology.
-Dr. Khedr's research
interests include petrology and geochemistry of mafic and ultramafic rocks and their mineralizations (Ni-Cu-Mo-Co-PGM,
magnetites, chromitite, Fe-Ti-V ores, chromitites and sulphide deposits); geochemical
exploration of rare metals and lithium in younger granites and pegmatites, heavy
minerals in Wadi deposits and black sands; geochemical exploration of copper,
cobalt and Nickel in metavolcanics; carbonization of mantle and its relation
with gold deposits (Listvenite formation); fluid-flow effects and compositions during
serpentinization and magnetization of peridotites to Moho Transition Zone; geodynamic
evolution and mantle processes of the Arabian Nubian Sheild based on stable
isotope and isotopic compositions.
-Dr. Khedr participated in international
projects for geological explorations, scientific expeditions and field works in
Egypt, Japan, Sultanate Oman, Iran, and Saudi Arabia.
-Dr. Khedr's publications (41
papers) have appeared in different peer reviewed Q1 and Q2 journals and he is a
Guest Editor of Minerals.
-Dr. Khedr supervised on six Master students and is a reviewer
in 13 international Journals.
-Dr. Khedr got several national prizes in Egypt and wrote
several articles in Egyptian national Newsletters. He has shown a number of TV
shows in Egyptian television
