In Implementation of the Presidential Mandate to Quickly Implement Digital Transformation Projects and Digitize University Hospitals ....Kafrelsheikh university Discusses Mechanisms of Digital Transfo


 Today Tuesday 1/9/2020, the President Prof Dr Abed El-Raziq Dousoki receives the committee of Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Reseach, represented by Prof Dr Ibrahim Fathi Moawad, the director of the Electronic and Cognitive Services Center at the Secretariat of the Supreme Council of Universities and Prof Dr Mohammad Khafagy, the director of the Electronic Tests Unit and the Committee of Minister of Communications and Information Technology, represented by Prof Dr Hossam Othman, the head of Software Engineering Competence Center; Prof Dr Haitham Hamza, the director of the Research and Development Administration at the Center; Eng Yasser Ghanem, a Research and Development Consultant, and Engineer Reham Salih, a Research and Development Consultant to evaluate the university and determine its capabilities to be transformed into a smart university; the evaluation will take place within three working days, including holding several meetings with a number of university leaders represented by the. President in the presence of the Vices of President, the deans, CIO and the directors of the sub-units of the Information and Development Unit.

This comes within the framework of activating the cooperation protocol signed between the Supreme Council of Universities and the Information Technology Industry Development Authority (ITIDA) at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology regarding the evaluation of the capabilities of all public universities to be transformed into smart universities.

As well, the President Prof Dr Abed El-Raziq Dosouki confirms the importance of digital transformation in all fields that the state attaches to keeping pace with the global development in this field, pointing to the mandate of Abed El Fattah El-Sisi, the President of the Republic, to quickly implement digital transformation projects for Egyptian universities and digitize university hospitals in order to facilitate the educational process and provide academic, educational and digital services for the students.

 

Dr Dosouki mentions that the university's digital transformation projects depend on several themes represented in the smart campus via training the work teams to raise the efficiency of human skills. In this context, the technical study and plans for the implementation of training programs have been prepared, schedules are being currently prepared for training and control in smart entry and access for any faculty, to implement the rules of social distancing, the attendance system and conduct electronic tests, as well as question banks are being established. Meanwhile, staff members will be trained to prepare questions, establish electronic platforms and portals, develop infrastructure, raise Internet speeds at the university and develop systems and applications, which aim to raise the efficiency of medical and treatment services provided by university hospitals and facilitate services for the patient.
