A multi-tasking "robot": Graduation Project for Students of Faculty of Engineering


 The students of the final year in the Faculty of Engineering, Division of Computer and Systems Engineering, carried out their graduation project, which is an Egyptian-made multi-tasking robot "MIRO" under the supervision of Dr Tamer Medhat Metwally, the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and the Assistant Professor of Computer and Systems Engineering at Department of Electrical Engineering, and Dr Ghada Mustafa Hamisa, Lecturer at Department of Electrical Engineering.

Seven students participate in the project: Abed El-Halim Ibrahim Hussien “the team leader”, Mohammad Ayman El-Adawy, Mohammad Zaghlol Gazy, Ammar El-Shamli, Ola Attia Eid, Basant Reda El-Dafrawy and Nadia Ahmed Shalabi.

The students explained that it is possible to speak with the robot in both Arabic and English and take pictures; it can identify people, move according to specific paths on the map and avoid collision with barriers and variables until it reaches its target automatically. It is also equipped with a mobile control system via the Android App.

As well, the President Prof Dr Abed El-Raziq Dosouki praises the student projects that were designed and implemented by final-year students of Division of Computers and Systems Engineering, confirming that this year's graduation projects were distinguished by being innovative and distinguished in ideas, design, implementation and all applied and scientific aspects.

 

The President called the graduates of the Faculty of Engineering to be responsible and ambassadors for their university with diligence, perseverance, sincerity and honesty, wishing them success in their practical life.
