Dr. El Mahdi is a Senior clinical lecture and Academic year Tutor, Queen Mary University of London. Lead to undergraduate teaching program in Barts health. Dr El Mahdi is a Teaching excellence award winner for three years in London.

He is graduated from Alexandria University, had all his training and postgraduate qualifications in the UK. Dr El Mahdi has good experience in Gynaecology Endocrinology and fertility management including ART. He is interested in PCOS research. All his research was carried out in the UCL. He studied the gene expression changes in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and ovarian cancer utilizing RT-PCR Differential Display. I have experience in extracting RNA from human tissues as well as animals, performing PCR and electrophoresis required for differential Display, plasmid cloning and designing primers. He also studies cell cycles changes in PCOS and the possible dysplasia changes in the ovarian surface epithelium and haemodynamic changes related to PCOS in an animal model.

Dr. El Mahdi is a co-other of Updates in Fallopian tubes chapter. Gynaecology text book edited by Robert W. Shaw   . Publisher: Churchill Livingstone; 4th edition.

Currently with the cooperation of Kafrelsheikh University he has started new research investigating possible effects of omega three fatty acids in PCOS metabolism double-blind, placebo

Controlled Nutritional Study. The research is sponsored by the Mediterranean university.
