Faculty of Veterinary Medicine launches the Excellence Program in Veterinary Pharmaceuticals and Biological Products

In a qualitative step that reflects Kafrelsheikh University’s orientation toward developing the higher education system and introducing academic programs that keep pace with future specializations and labor market needs, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Kafrelsheikh University announces the launch of the Excellence Program in Veterinary Pharmaceuticals and Biological Products, among the faculty’s distinguished bachelor’s programs, starting from the academic year 2026/2027.

The launch of the new program is within the framework of Kafrelsheikh University’s vision aimed at building an educational system more closely linked to the needs of the productive, industrial, and research sectors, and providing specialized educational pathways for students that enable them to acquire the scientific and applied knowledge and skills that qualify them to compete in the labor market locally and regionally.

With the addition of the new program, the number of excellence programs at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Kafrelsheikh University, rises to three qualitative programs, including:

·         The Excellence Program in Food Health and Safety.

·         The Excellence Program in Pet Medicine and Surgery.

·         The Excellence Program in Veterinary Pharmaceuticals and Biological Products.

Prof. Yahya Zakaria Eid, President of the University, affirms that the launch of the Excellence Program in Veterinary Pharmaceuticals and Biological Products represents an important addition to the university’s system of distinguished academic programs, and embodies the university’s keenness to develop its educational specializations in line with the rapid transformations in science and technology and the needs of the labor market.

He points out that the university does not limit itself to offering traditional study programs; rather, it works to introduce specialized educational pathways that grant students a real competitive advantage and link what the student studies to the professional, research, and industrial opportunities available after graduation.

For his part, Prof. Samir El-Shazly, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, affirms that the Excellence Program in Veterinary Pharmaceuticals and Biological Products represents an important leap in the path of developing the faculty’s educational programs. It aims to prepare graduates who possess specialized scientific and practical qualification in one of the vital and growing fields in the veterinary sector.

He explains that the program focuses on preparing cadres capable of dealing with the development, manufacturing, and control of veterinary pharmaceuticals and biological products, while enhancing students’ capabilities in the fields of quality, scientific research, and practical applications, in a manner consistent with the nature of the modern labor market.

He adds that the program gives students the opportunity to benefit from an educational environment that combines academic study and practical application, thereby enhancing their ability to join the various sectors related to their field of specialization. He affirms that the faculty continuously works to develop its programs to keep pace with scientific developments and respond to the rapid changes in the labor market.

The Excellence Program in Veterinary Pharmaceuticals and Biological Products aims to prepare specialized graduates in the fields of veterinary pharmaceuticals and biological products and qualify them to work in multiple sectors, the most prominent of which are:

1)      Veterinary pharmaceutical companies.

2)      Factories of pharmaceuticals, vaccines, and biological products.

3)      Pharmaceutical control and quality laboratories.

4)      Research and development centers.

5)      Marketing and pharmaceutical management sectors.

6)      Relevant regulatory bodies and authorities.

7)      Fields of scientific research and postgraduate studies.

The program is also distinguished by providing practical and field training, benefiting from modern laboratories and equipment, in addition to offering opportunities for training and cooperation with relevant entities and companies, thereby enhancing the student’s readiness for professional life from the years of study.

The program is with a study track extending to 5 academic years in addition to an internship year, with a total of 190 credit hours, according to an educational system that aims to combine scientific grounding, practical application, and specialized training.

 

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine affirms that the three excellence programs represent an integrated system aimed at preparing veterinarians who possess modern specializations and competitive skills. This contributes to supporting the sectors of health and food safety, pet medicine and surgery, and veterinary pharmaceuticals and biological products, and enhances the university’s role in serving society and supporting sustainable development.
