Kafrelsheikh University has launched a comprehensive medical treatment and awareness convoy to Al-Wazariya Village and the neighboring villages in Al-Riyad Center. The convoy falls within the framework of the presidential initiative “Together with Awareness, We Protect It” and continues the series of medical and developmental convoys organized by the University across various villages of Kafrelsheikh Governorate.

The convoy is organized in cooperation with the Directorate of Health Affairs in Kafrelsheikh and the Kafrelsheikh branch of the National Council for Women. This reflects the University’s societal role and its active participation in implementing presidential initiatives, as well as supporting the state’s efforts to build the Egyptian citizen and achieve the objectives of Egypt’s Vision 2030.

The convoy provides medical examinations for 1,411 cases across various specialties, including internal medicine, ophthalmology, ear, nose and throat, obstetrics and gynecology, dermatology, psychiatry and neurology, pediatrics, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, urology, neurosurgery, and oral and dental medicine. Medical services and free medication are provided to all patients. Cases requiring further examinations or therapeutic interventions are referred to the University Hospital.

The convoy also features a comprehensive awareness program on the population issue and educational seminars on the “Golden 1,000 Days” initiative. This is one of the most important health initiatives aimed at raising awareness of the importance of caring for the mother and child from the beginning of pregnancy until the child reaches the age of two. It confirms proper nutrition, breastfeeding, and regular health follow-up, considering this period as the cornerstone for building healthier generations with greater capacity for learning and productivity.

The President adds that these convoys are not limited to conducting medical examinations and dispensing treatment, but also aim to spread health awareness, instill a culture of prevention, and contribute to improving quality of life. He confirms that the University will continue to expand the organization of medical, developmental, and environmental convoys in cooperation with various state institutions. This contributes to easing the burden on citizens and strengthens the University’s role as a key partner in development and community service.

For her part, Prof. Amany Mohamed Shaker, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development and Rapporteur of the National Council for Women branch in Kafrelsheikh, states that the convoy sees a large turnout from the residents of Al-Wazariya Village and the neighboring villages. A total of 1,411 cases receive medical examinations, and free treatment is provided to all patients. The awareness component is one of the main pillars of the convoy, with campaigns implemented on the population issue and the Golden 1,000 Days initiative. These aim to enhance family awareness of the importance of healthcare for mothers and children, disease prevention, and the adoption of healthy behaviors.

She confirms that a number of cases are referred to the University Hospital for further examinations, X-rays, and necessary therapeutic and surgical interventions. Some cases are also referred to the clinics of the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine at the University for specialized treatment. This ensures that patients receive the highest level of healthcare and embodies Kafrelsheikh University’s mission to provide integrated health services that combine treatment, awareness, and follow-up, in support of presidential initiatives and the achievement of sustainable development goals.
