History
- The Faculty of Aquatic and Fisheries Sciences was established to meet the needs of Kafrelsheikh and the neighboring governorates.
- The Faculty aims to prepare distinguished graduates who are able to invest modern technologies in the field of aquaculture and fish processing and increase the productivity of fisheries because it is an important sector in the national economy and it has a great role in the development and regulation of fishing mechanisms and preservation of the aquatic environment.
- Kafrelsheikh governorate produces about 40% of the total fish production of Egypt.
- Faculty of Aquatic and Fisheries Sciences was established at Kafrelsheikh University according to the Presidential Decree No. (146) for the year (2013).
- Prof. Dr. Maged Abdul Tawab El-Kemary, President of the University, supervised the establishment and equipping of the faculty, he also prepared the economic and social feasibility study of the faculty.
- The study started at the faculty in the academic year 2013/2014.
- In the first year, the Faculty received 125 students through the Coordination Office.
