The Minister of Higher Education reviews a report on the performance harvest of Kafrelsheikh University Hospitals during the year 2022

 Within the framework of the interest of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the performance of university hospitals as one of the main pillars for providing distinguished health services to citizens, and in this context, Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, a report submitted by Dr. Abdel-Razek Desouky, President of Kafrelsheikh University, about the performance of university hospitals during the current year.

 
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research confirmed that the ministry attaches great importance to the development of medical and health services in university hospitals, pointing out that the number of university hospitals in 2014 reached about 88, while it reached 120 in 2022, pointing out that these hospitals enjoy the confidence of citizens due to what they offer. Distinguished health services.
 
For his part, Dr. indicated. Abdel Razeq to harvest the performance of Kafrelsheikh University Hospitals during the year 2022, and its educational and training role; To prepare medical cadres at a high level of competence, in addition to its pivotal role in advancing the health system in Egypt in cooperation with the hospitals of the Ministry of Health.
 
The report stated that the number of beds in Kafrelsheikh University hospitals reached 434 beds, and the number of patients attending outpatient clinics daily reached 631 cases, while the number of patients in internal departments during the year reached 15622 cases, and the number of patients who underwent surgeries reached about 8191 cases, in addition to The hospital's medical team succeeded in performing 921 complex surgeries.
 
The report pointed to the participation of university hospitals in the implementation of presidential initiatives such as the "Healthy Foot Initiative" with the presence of a diabetic foot clinic that provides them with health care and awareness, as more than 500 patients visit it per month, benefiting from follow-up and regulation of diabetes, periodic examinations and various operations in the event of need it.
 
The report indicated that the number of patients on waiting lists for the Presidential Initiative 100 Million Health reached 6,250 cases, while the number of patients with the Presidential Initiative to Eliminate Hepatitis C reached 14,772 cases.
 
The report stated that the hospital has 16 dialysis units, where the number of regular cases reached 360 sessions per month, and the number of emergency dialysis cases, including care cases, 40 sessions per month, while the number of plasmapheresis cases reached 22 sessions per month.
 
The report noted the number of medical convoys implemented by the university as part of the presidential initiative for a decent life, which amounted to 20 convoys, aimed at supporting the level of medical service, conducting medical examinations for citizens in the villages most in need, and providing them with the necessary treatment for free. The number of patients benefiting from these convoys reached 33,257 patients. .
 
For his part, Dr. confirmed. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of University Hospitals, said that the state harnesses all its medical capabilities to provide decent health services to citizens through hospitals affiliated to the Ministries of Higher Education and Health and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, explaining that there are about 120 university hospitals in Egypt with about 36,000 beds, which represent a third of the number of beds in Egypt, numbering 134 thousand.
 
He added that university hospitals receive about 20 million visitors annually, and 3 million patients are booked from them, as the emergency hospital “Qasr Al-Aini” and “Ain Shams” receive about one million patients annually, and these hospitals provide about more than 60% of specialized operations such as heart and liver. , kidneys, and so on.
 
Dr. said. Hatem El Gohary, Executive Director of Kafrelsheikh University Hospitals, said that work is underway to speed up the construction of the emergency hospital, outpatient clinics, medical education, and oncology hospital. To serve the people of Kafr El-Sheikh and the neighboring governorates, as part of the university's plan to establish an integrated medical city.
 
The Executive Director of University Hospitals added that the emergency hospital consists of a ground floor and 8 duplicate upper floors, with a total area of 45,000 square meters, operating with a capacity of 690 beds for various specialties. A ground floor and 3 upper floors with a total area of 8000 square meters with a capacity of 78 beds for chemotherapy sessions, and internal reservation for patients whose condition requires internal reservation. The construction of the building has been completed and the necessary equipment is underway, while the outpatient clinic building consists of a ground floor and 8 recurring floors with a total area of 20,000 square meters. It includes 48 clinics, two x-ray rooms, a continuing medical education center, and a skills lab for training students.
